Seated Side Bends, How and Why to do one.

Seated Side Bend, Otherwise known as parsva sukhasana in sanskrit is an excellent way to soothe the body and mind.
It helps to sooth the mind and body by stretching out muscles in the neck and shoulder region, as well as the back and obliques.

How to:
[1] START IN EASY POSE AND PLACE YOUR LEFT HAND ON THE FLOOR WITH YOUR ELBOW SLIGHTLY BENT.

[2] REACH YOUR RIGHT ARM UP AND OVER HEAD. LEAN TO THE LEFT SIDE.
(DON’T FORGET TO BREATHE! SLOWLY AND DEEPLY AS YOU EXTEND TO THE SIDE.
ALSO KEEP YOUR SIT BONES GROUNDED! )

[3] HOLD THE POSE FOR 30 SECONDS TO A MINUTE, SWITCH SIDES AND REPEAT.*
